Becoming a Travelpreneur
My purpose for this blog is to inspire others and those that feel they want to “rewrite” their life, like I have rewritten mine. By making the positive changes that they’ve always wanted to make, by creating abundance, and by following their heart. I want others to see that you don’t have to conform to what society tries to tell us we must be.
Living Life on Your Own Terms
As a young adult, I realized I wanted to live life on my own terms. I’ve always had that intense entrepreneurial spirit, and I used it to create more in my life. Through the years, my husband and I have always had side hustles. They were always successful, we just weren’t following our hearts, and following what we genuinely wanted to do. I don’t even think we knew what that was back then. I think that’s one of the biggest questions we can ask ourselves. What is it that I genuinely want in life? Answer this, and your entire life will be transformed.
Have the Courage to Follow Your Heart and Do What Inspires You
After ten years of working in our careers, we felt like we weren’t living up to our full life’s potential. We’ve started several businesses along the way, trying to find that one perfect thing that worked, and made us feel like we were following our hearts. You will be amazed at how things flow for you when you are following what inspires you. Things work out so naturally. I’ve always felt that if you’re not happy in what you’re doing, don’t be afraid to change it, we don’t have to be stuck. Have the courage to follow your heart and do what inspires you.
When you advance confidently in the direction of your own dreams to live the life you have imagined, success will chase you, and arrive in your life in external form, in sufficient amounts to take care of you and your needs.” By Dr. Wayne Dyer
This Was the Pivoting Moment in Our Lives
When our son was born, that was the real pivoting point. That was the moment when we knew we wanted to live life on our own terms and have more time together as a family. I worked right up until the day before I had him, and told my boss, “I’ll be back in six weeks.” During that time, I found my purpose, and it wasn’t going back to a 9-5 job.
When you have a desire, you find ways to make it work, and that’s exactly what we did. During this time, we bought our first rental property, and completely remodeled it ourselves. It was at this moment that we realized how powerful passive income really is. We were reading books like, “Rich Dad, Poor Dad” by Robert Kiyosaki, “Think and Grow Rich” by Napoleon Hill, watching movies like, “The Secret,” listening to Dr. Wayne Dyer and other motivational speakers, and completely surrounding ourselves with positive influences.
I was able to work for myself and go to school full time until our son went to preschool. At that time, I started working for a worldwide corporation. Our son has always enjoyed learning. By the time he reached kindergarten, he was able to do multiplication. We had so much learning time together that he found himself getting bored in school. It was then that I decided to leave corporate America and stay home to homeschool him. He’s now in 10th grade, one year ahead of where he should be. He’s worked hard to get to where he’s at. Homeschooling has been the best thing we’ve ever done.
In 2018, my husband lost his job unexpectedly. It was then that we decided to make our side hustle a fulltime business and become full time RVers to make it work. See my next post here for the full story of how we turned something that could’ve been devastating into fulfilling our dream of living life on our own terms.
